The borough is strategically placed to attract graduates from the University of Surrey and University of the Creative Arts and is home to successful 6th Form and Further Education establishments.


Waverley Borough Council is committed to apprenticeships and has a not-for-profit division, Waverley Training Services, which delivers training programmes and apprenticeship schemes to the local community.

Highly qualified employees

Latest data from the Office of National Statistics shows that 44.2% of the resident working age population has a recognised qualification (NVQ level 4 and above), which is much higher that the regional and national average (36.8% and 34.4% respectively).

Low unemployment

Waverley has a buoyant economy with low levels of unemployment and over 77% of its working population is economically active compared to a national level of 70.7%.
