Haslemere is a thriving town of some 15,000 people at the centre of a 78.5 square mile district also encompassing Northchapel, Fernhurst, Liphook, Headley Down, Grayshott, Churt, Hindhead, Thursley, Wormley and Chiddingfold.

Haslemere is in the borough of Waverley,  in south-west Surrey. It borders Hampshire and West Sussex.
