Office closure

Our offices are closed to the general public. 

However, from 12 April 2021, you can attend pre-booked appointments if you need to see a council officer face-to-face. Please make an appointment with the relevant team.  

Staff are working from home, so please contact us online, by email, or phone.

Car parking charges and enforcement are as normal. We will continue to recognise the permit schemes for critical care workers administered by MHCLG and Surrey County Council.  See car parks homepage for more information on car parks in Waverley.

Our parks and playgrounds are open. Please act responsibly and observe social distancing measures when you are out and about:

You can continue to use our parks for exercise but please note the current government guidance.

  • Keep a 2 metre distance from other visitors (1m+ distance if it is not possible to keep a 2m distance, wearing a face mask if possible). 
  • You are allowed to meet outdoors either in a group of 6 (from any number of households), or in a group of any size from up to 2 households (each household can include existing support bubbles, if eligible).
  • You are allowed to take part in formally organised outdoor sports with any number of people (outdoor sports venues and facilities will be able to reopen).
  • From 17 May, indoor play areas will  be open.
  • Childcare and supervised activities will be allowed outdoors for all children.
  • All childcare and supervised activities will be allowed indoors (as well as outdoors) for all children. Parent and child groups can take place indoors, and outdoors, for up to 15 people.

Playgrounds and trim trails

Please act responsibly and observe social distancing measures when you are out and about:

  • avoid play area if busy
  • keep two metres away from anyone outside your household
  • wash your and your children's hands before and after visit and use hand sanitiser
  • do not remove any temporary barriers to the playground or unravel any swing seats or cables that are secured.

Tennis courts and ball courts (MUGAs)

Waverley managed tennis courts and ball courts (MUGAs) are now open in accordance with national guidelines.  


All Waverley-owned skateparks are now open in accordance with national guidelines.

Site visits, the Planning Reception service and Householder surgeries for pre-application planning advice are suspended, in line with the government's rules on social distancing.

Following the recent Government announcement, we can confirm that  centres are now open.

From 7 May 2021, Council, Executive and Committee meetings will be held in the Council Chamber at the Waverley Borough Council offices in Godalming.

Due to ongoing Covid restrictions, space in the public gallery will be limited, so we would advise watching meetings via Waverley Borough Council's YouTube channel.

Housing services will prioritise the immediate health, wellbeing and safety of local residents, particularly the vulnerable, in line with the main objective.  


Tradespeople can continue to work in council homes in all tiers/lockdown, however, you must advise us if you are shielding, self isolating, have symptoms or have tested positive for Covid-19.  Operatives will have PPE, keep socially distanced and wipe down surfaces they have touched.  Please keep your distance, wear a mask, open windows and where possible stay in another room while work is completed in your home.

Lettings and mutual exchanges

Home moves can continue in all tiers/lockdown however, you must advise us if you are shielding, self isolating, have symptoms or have tested positive for Covid-19 during the move process.  Please keep your distance, wear a mask, open windows and where possible be in another room while viewing homes.

Home visits

The Housing Management Team will only visit in exceptional circumstances for emergency or safeguarding concerns.   The Housing Management team are still available to talk to. Please contact the Housing Customer Services team on 0330 119 3000 or
