Local Restrictions Support Grant

On 31 October the Government announced a series of measures to support businesses if they are required to close due to either national or local restrictions.

This includes the Local Restrictions Support Grant – under which businesses that meet the eligibility criteria will be paid according to the schedule below:

  • grants of £1,334 per month, or £667 per two weeks, for properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or under
  • grants of £2000 per month, or £1000 per two weeks, for properties with a rateable value of between £15,000-£50,000
  • grants of £3,000 per month, or £1,500 per two weeks, for properties with a rateable value of £51,000 or over.

To qualify for this grant, your business must be in the borough of Waverley and have been:

  • open as usual before the restrictions.
  • providing services in person to customers from the premises.
  • required to close due to restrictions imposed by government.
  • paying business rates for the premises before restrictions started.

Visit GOV.UK for the full list of businesses required to close from 5th November

The scheme will apply after the very high level of restrictions has been in force for two weeks.

From 1 November the scheme will be extended to include businesses which have been required to close on a national, rather than a local basis, or which have not been legally able to reopen since the first lockdown in March, including nightclubs, dance halls and hostess bars.
