What happens to your recycling?

Mixed recycling

The mixed recycling we collect from your home is bulked and then taken to a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) for sorting before being delivered to manufacturers within the UK to be used again.

Food waste

Our food waste goes to two sites, the Biogen Greenfinch bio-gas plant in Bedfordshire and to Bio Collectors in Mitcham. The natural bacteria breaks down the food waste until it forms a rich liquid fertiliser. This is then used by local farmers.
