The job club is run with the support of GATE (Guildford Advice to Employment) volunteers and funding from the Community Foundation for Surrey.
The Opportunities project provides support in developing life and employability skills, thus improving confidence and self-esteem, which all increase the opportunity of finding employment. The class is delivered in small, friendly groups, with a tutor and support worker. Each student is taught independently to progress at their own rate. Topics covered include word processing, spreadsheets, databases, Powerpoint presentations and Publisher. In addition, help in job searches, writing CVs, and interview techniques are available. The classes are FREE but a small donation to help funding by providing more facilities is appreciated.
