The Local Plan 2002 was adopted in 2002 and is in the process of being replaced by Waverley's New Local Plan (Part 1 and Part 2).

Updates to policies since 2002

In 2007, by direction of the Secretary of State, some of the policies in the Local Plan 2002 ceased to have effect. The policies which remained in the plan became known as 'Saved Policies'. View the schedule of saved policies and the list of policies which have been removed from the plan.

In February 2018 we adopted our Local Plan Part 1: Strategic Policies and Sites which replaces a number of policies from the Local Plan 2002. You can view a list of which policies have been replaced and which ones remain in force.

Once our Local Plan Part 2: Site Allocations and Development Management Policies has been adopted, it will replace all of the remaining policies in the Local Plan 2002.
