Referendum on the adoption of the Neighbourhood Plan for Cranleigh

  1. A referendum will be held on Thursday 29 February 2024 to decide on the question below:

‘Do you want Waverley Borough Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Cranleigh to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?’

  1. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Tuesday 13 February 2024. Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
     
  2. New applications for, or amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of existing proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Council Offices, The Burys, Godalming, Surrey, GU7 1HR, by 5pm on Wednesday 14 February 2024.
     
  3. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this referendum must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 21 February 2024. Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate
     
  4. New applications to vote by proxy at this referendum must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the above address by 5pm on Wednesday 21 February 2024.
     
  5. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this referendum on grounds of physical incapacity, for work/service reasons or on the grounds of voter ID must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Council Offices, The Burys, Godalming, Surrey, GU7 1HR by 5pm on Thursday 29 February 2024. The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5pm on Wednesday 21 February 2024. To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5pm on Wednesday 21 February 2024. To apply on the grounds of voter ID if, after the deadline for applying for a Voter Authority Certificate, 5pm on Wednesday 21 February 2024, the photographic ID has been lost, stolen, destroyed or damaged to the point where it is no longer useable, or if the photographic ID has been sent to another person or organisation to prove identity and it will not be received back in time for polling day.
