If you are listed as voting in person, but want to change to vote by post, please follow the instructions to apply online for a postal vote.
Proxy
If you are listed as voting in person, but want to change to vote by proxy, you can only vote via proxy on a permanent basis if:
- You have a disability
- You are away from home due to education or employment, a Crown Servant, serving in the armed services or an anonymous elector.
An elector is only able to act as a proxy for up to 2 people living in the UK (or a maximum of 4 people, with 2 people living in the UK and 2 people registered as living overseas).
Please follow the instructions online to apply for a proxy vote.
If you are listed as voting by post or by proxy and want to change this to vote in person at your polling station, please follow the instructions to cancel a postal or proxy vote. We will send you an absent voting cancellation request which you must complete and return to cancel your postal or proxy vote.

If you are listed as voting in person, but want to change to vote by post, please write "by post" on the form. We will send you an application form to complete and return to arrange postal voting.
Proxy
If you are listed as voting in person, but want to change to vote by proxy, please write "by proxy" and the reason for your request (disability, education, employment, Crown Servant, serving in the armed services or as anonymous elector). We will send you the relevant application form to complete and return to arrange proxy voting.
If you are listed as voting by post or by proxy and want to change this to vote in person at your polling station, please cross out "by post" or "by proxy" and write "in person" underneath. We will send you an absent voting cancellation request you must complete and return to cancel your postal or proxy vote.
