Land Availability Assessment (LAA)

The Land Availability Assessment (LAA) is a technical evidence study that identifies and assesses land that may have potential for future development. It forms part of the evidence base that will inform the preparation of the new Waverley Local Plan.

The LAA includes sites submitted through the Call for Sites, as well as sites which have been identified by the Council. The LAA does not determine whether a site will be allocated for development or whether a planning application will be approved or refused.

Land Availability Assessment 2026

The Land Availability Assessment 2026 sets out the approach used to assess sites and the findings of the assessment. Individual site assessment proformas are included within the published LAA documents.

The information shown on the interactive map should be read alongside the LAA and the relevant individual site assessment. The appearance of a site on the map does not mean that it has been allocated for development or that planning permission will be granted.

Future updates

The LAA will be reviewed and updated as preparation of the new Local Plan progresses, allowing further evidence and relevant information to be taken into account.
