Car parks

We provide convenient parking options across Farnham, Godalming, Haslemere, and Cranleigh, with well-maintained car parks featuring permits, disabled parking, motorbike bays, and bicycle stands.

We are currently upgrading our parking machines to offer simpler and more flexible payment methods including cash, card, phone, and app payments, ensuring ease of use and efficiency for visitors.

This is part of our ongoing commitment to improving parking facilities, which includes accessible parking and up-to-date enforcement processes for fines and permits, ensuring a smooth parking experience for everyone.

New parking machines in Waverley’s car parks

We’re introducing new and improved parking machines across all our car parks. These upgrades will make paying for parking faster, easier, and more reliable, with multiple convenient payment options to suit everyone.

The first machines have been installed and installation will be carried out in phases across all council-run car parks. There may be signs to give guidance during this period, but we’ll keep any disruption to a minimum.

Our parking team will be available throughout the rollout to help and answer any questions.

We’re upgrading to modern, user-friendly machines designed to improve reliability, accessibility, and convenience. The new machines provide more payment options and a better overall experience for everyone.

Installation has already started and will continue across all council-operated car parks. Each site will be updated as quickly as possible to avoid inconvenience.

Yes, every car park will have at least one machine that accepts cash payments.

You’ll be able to pay using:

  • contactless debit or credit cards
  • mobile payment apps (same as currently available)
  • cash (at designated machines)

No, this upgrade is focused on improving the machines themselves. Pricing will remain the same.

A small number of parking bays may be temporarily affected while installation is in progress. Clear signage will help drivers, and our team will be available to assist if needed.

Yes, accessibility has been a major factor in selecting and placing the new machines. They feature larger screens, clear instructions, and are positioned for ease of use for all drivers.

No, you can continue to use your usual mobile payment app. The new machines will integrate smoothly with existing payment methods.

Our parking team will be on site during the rollout to assist. You can also report any issues or get support by contacting parking@waverley.gov.uk.

Yes, receipts can be provided either as a printed ticket from the machine or sent digitally via mobile payment apps, depending on how you pay.

All new machines meet the latest Payment Card Industry (PCI) security standards. No financial information is stored by Waverley Borough Council.

The old units are being removed responsibly. Wherever possible, parts will be recycled to minimise environmental impact.
