Disabled parking permits

Disabled parking in car parks for Blue Badge holders

Blue Badge holders need to pay to park in all parking bays in Waverley's car parks. They receive an additional free hour when purchasing a ticket for one or more hours of parking.

Free disabled parking permit

Free parking permits are available for disabled residents on a range of qualifying benefits. This is a yellow permit that must be displayed alongside the Blue Badge in the front windscreen and entitles disabled motorists to park for free. To qualify for a free parking permit, you must be a Waverley resident.

The benefits include:

  • Attendance Allowance (all rates)
  • Council Tax Support
  • Disability Living Allowance (higher rate)
  • Employment Support Allowance
  • Housing Benefit
  • Income Support
  • Job Seekers Allowance
  • Pension Credit
  • Personal Independence Payment (higher rate)
  • Universal Credit
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Any other income related benefit

The permit entitles disabled motorists to park for free when displaying both their Blue Badge and permit, face up in the front windscreen.

Motorists with both Blue Badge and disabled parking permit can park in disabled bays free of charge for a maximum of three hours. They can also park in a general bay free of charge for an unrestricted amount of time when displaying both the permit and Blue Badge.
