Waverley Borough Council responds to ESSO’s replacement pipeline corridor consultation

Published Friday, 27 April 2018

The council has expressed strong opposition to the two potential routes that pass through the borough, particularly the route that runs through Farnham town centre, on the following grounds:

  • Disruption to the town centre during the construction phase, particularly in combination with other planned developments in the town centre such as at the Woolmead and Brightwells on East Street.
  • Impact on the Conservation Area of Farnham, particularly Castle Street
  • Potential impact on archaeological remains

The council’s concerns will be explored in more detail with ESSO at a planned meeting and during the later stages of the consultation.
