Worried about the cost of living? Check if you are eligible for the Household Support Fund

Waverley residents in need of help with significantly rising living costs can apply for funding that has been designed to support people during these difficult times and offer help where it is needed most.

The Government has provided an additional £842m for the Household Support Fund across England. Help with the cost of essentials such as food, clothing, gas and electricity bills, school uniform and wider essentials is available for individuals and families who are:

  • facing immediate financial difficulties
  • a household living in Waverley
  • struggling to pay essential household bills

Applications are open until all funds have been allocated.

Councillor Kika Mirylees, Waverley Borough Council's Portfolio Holder for Community Services, Leisure and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, said:

“I would urge any households in Waverley who are finding it difficult to cope financially, please come forward and apply for this vital funding while  it is available. The cost-of-living crisis is still very much with us and I know that there are people living within the borough, as there are all over the UK,  who could do with a helping hand, especially as we head towards the winter months.

“Whether it’s help with heating or school uniforms or, most importantly, to help put food on the table, I strongly encourage those who are in need of some extra assistance, to check if they are eligible, and apply as soon as possible.”
