Get set go for a film set adventure

New borough film map

Waverley borough has several beautiful, historic, and more contemporary locations where TV programmes and films have been set. No matter what your preferred genre, there’s something for everyone. From TV series Citadel to the movie War Horse to the comedy Hot Fuzz, to action packed adventure in Skyfall - you can visit these film and TV set locations with the help of our borough film and TV location map.

Film and television production is an important industry in Waverley, with each day of filming bringing considerable income into the borough. Film Waverley work closely with local businesses to offer help and advice on promoting its locations to production companies, and with film crews in town, local catering, restaurateurs, taxi companies, hoteliers and many other businesses can benefit too.

The films themselves help to showcase the borough and connect people with places and landscapes. Children and adults who visit Bourne Wood can climb and run along the same paths as Harry Potter. Woodland scenes of The Kings Man were filmed at Hankley Common, and the stunning Ramster Hall in Chiddingfold hosted scenes from the film Emma.

All the locations are available on our updated film map and information about places to stay, eat and drink are available at Visit Surrey and at the Business Waverley website.

So why not organise your film and TV set adventure and spend a weekend in the Surrey Hills visiting the borough of Waverley and immersing yourself in the film sets, places, and beautiful landscapes of your heroes, heroines and TV celebrities.  Grab a picnic from one of our cafés, eat in one of our many restaurants or stay in one of our beautiful market towns. Get set go for your film set adventure!

Waverley Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Planning and Economic Development, Councillor Liz Townsend said,

Waverley Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Health, Wellbeing, Parks and Leisure, Councillor Kika Mirylees said,

“It’s wonderful to see this film map updated – it offers residents, businesses, and visitors real opportunities in this sector. Waverley Borough has a lot to offer, and we are proud to be sharing our treasured landscapes, film sets, historical and contemporary places”.
