‘Fair Play’ to Team Waverley!

Fair play to Team Waverley who were awarded the Gerry Ceaser ‘Fair Play’ Award in this year’s Specsavers Surrey Youth Games that took place last weekend (15 and 16 June).

The prize is awarded to the authority receiving most nominations in proportion to the number of events entered and Team Waverley were praised for their “excellent sportsmanship and embracing the ethos of the games”.

A total of 171 young people trained in 10 sports over seven weeks from 30 schools across the borough, with 117 representing Waverley at last weekend’s games. Between them they won one silver medal in U8 Mixed Mini Tennis and two bronze medals, one in U16 Contact Mixed and one in  U16 Non-Contact Mixed Boxing.
