Advice for visitors to Frensham Great Pond and Common

Published Thursday, 19 April 2018

With the arrival of the warmer weather, we expect an increase in visitors to Frensham Great Pond and Common.

If you're planning on visiting this weekend, don't forget your change for the car park – the charge is £4 for all vehicles. Blue Badge holders and National Trust members can park free of charge.

On weekends, particularly during good weather, the car park is often full by noon – so visitors are advised to arrive early to avoid disappointment. The gates are closed at 9pm.

Visitors are not allowed to park on the lanes that access Frensham Ponds, as these roads are designated as Rural Clearways and emergency vehicles need access at all times. Surrey Police issue penalty notices to vehicles parked on the clearway.

Enjoy the beach but please follow the rules for your safety:

  • dogs are not allowed on the beaches at anytime
  • barbeques and fires are not allowed
  • inflatable boats and rings are not permitted anywhere on the pond.
