Secretary of State decisions back Waverley's adopted Local Plan

Today the Secretary of State, Sajid Javid has published his long-awaited decisions on four key planning applications, backing Waverley's adopted Local Plan.

The Secretary of State has endorsed Waverley’s decision to grant permission for a new settlement at Dunsfold Park, which includes 1,800 new homes, a new school, community centre, business space and supporting infrastructure.

In his decision letter, the Secretary of State backs the Local Plan Inspector’s conclusion that the strategic site allocation at Dunsfold Aerodrome is a ‘key contributor to housing delivery’ in the borough and confirms that the council has a five-year housing land supply.

Hot on the heels of this crucial decision, the Secretary of State also published his decisions on three significant planning appeals in Farnham; refusing planning permission on land at Lower Weybourne Lane, Waverley Lane and Monkton Lane.

In all three cases he strongly backed the policies of the recently-adopted Local Plan and the Farnham Neighbourhood Plan, reaffirming the council’s ability to demonstrate a five-year housing supply.
