Affordable homes started at Wey Court, Godalming

Following the award-winning Church View development at Station Road, Godalming, Portfolio Holder for Housing, Councillor Carole King, was there for the start of Waverley's next new development.

Work is now underway on the site of the former Wey Court House sheltered housing scheme in Godalming, located off Meadrow.

The new homes are being built in red brick, plain clay roof tiles, and timber effect weatherboarding. This will add an interesting and attractive feature to the local environment, as well as providing well designed and affordable accommodation for local residents. The properties are being built on council land and will be owned and managed by the Council.

The development will consist of:

- 14 one bedroom flats;

- 8 two bedroom flats;

- 2 two bedroom houses

A total of 55 parking spaces will be provided as well as outdoor amenity space.

The contractors, Thakeham, have an excellent record building high quality affordable housing, and aim to have the new homes completed in Summer 2018.

The development is the latest in Waverley’s Affordable Homes Delivery Plan, an ambitious programme to meet housing need in the borough.
