A public consultation is underway for the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) preliminary draft charging schedule.
CIL allows councils to raise funds from developers to fund infrastructure needed across the borough, as a result of development. The financial contributions secured can be used towards improvements to roads, schools, parks, playgrounds and other community facilities.
The preliminary draft charging schedule sets out what developments will be liable to pay CIL and what the proposed charge will be.
The six week consultation that started on the 19 June, asks residents, developers and other interested parties what they think about the preliminary draft charging schedule.
There are a number of ways to take part in the consultation:
· Using the council’s online consultation system (the council’s preferred option) at: www.waverley.gov.uk/CIL
· Emailing your comments to firstname.lastname@example.org
If you do not have internet access, the consultation document is available from the planning reception of the Waverley Borough Council offices, The Burys, Godalming, GU7 1HR, and at locality offices and public libraries within the Borough.
The deadline for responses is Monday 31 July 2017.
