Weydon Lane project, South Farnham

Project background

From the 1950s to 1980s this site was used as a landfill. It’s located southeast of Farnham town centre, in the residential area of Weydon. Some residents might know the site as ‘Brambleton Park’. After the closure of the landfill, a protective clay cap was placed over the waste, transforming the area into an informal open space for activities like dog walking, running or simply using it as a shortcut.

Over the years, various ideas have been proposed to develop the land, and the council is again looking at the opportunity to assess the grounds future potential. Firstly, the current clay cap needs repairing. This is a long and complex process, and our current estimate is that the new green space will open in 2031.

Currently, we’re running a survey about the future use of the park – click here to take part. The survey closes on 13 July 2025.
