Residential Extensions Design Guide

If you are thinking of extending your home, the Residential Extensions Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) should help you to plan your extension, whether you need planning permission or not.

About the Residential Extensions SPD

The Residential Extensions Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) identifies the key points to consider in order to achieve a design which will complement your home in terms of style, scale and materials. The advice in this document refers to situations where, in principle, you can build an extension.

The SPD is a material planning consideration and will be used in the determination of relevant planning applications.

The SPD was adopted at Full Council on 12 October 2010.
