Notice of review of polling districts and polling places

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, under section 18 C of the Representation of the People Act 1983 (as amended), to the commencement of a review into polling districts and polling places for the new ward arrangements that come into force from the Local Council Elections to be held on Thursday 4 May 2023.

The council is now reviewing all the polling districts and places used at elections to take account of these new ward boundaries. Proposals for new voting arrangements, and the (Acting) Returning Officer’s comments, are now available.

The council welcomes representations and views from any interested party that wishes to comment on any aspect of the polling districts and/or polling places and/or polling stations currently used. Comments are also welcomed from any interested person registered as an elector within the borough of Waverley.

Anyone commenting on the suitability of existing or proposed polling places is asked to provide suggestions for alternative venues, where possible, to assist the review process.

The council welcomes representations from any person or body with expertise in access for people with any type of disability. Similarly, representations from residents with disabilities would be particularly welcomed.

The (Acting) Returning Officer's comments are included in their submission on the existing and proposed polling stations. It will also be available to inspect at Waverley Borough Council’s office during normal office hours (08:45 – 17:15 Monday – Thursday & 08:45 – 16:45 on Fridays).
