2021 Vehicle policy changes

As of 1 April 2021:

Window tinting: A minimum of 22% light transmission in the rear of the vehicle is needed, down from 70%.

Car livery (colour wrap): This must not be the same as a neighbouring council's colour for their hackney carriage vehicles.

PHV stickers: A sticker, provided by Waverley, must be displayed on both front doors of private hire vehicles.

Written off vehicles will not be accepted.

From 1 April 2022: 

Vehicles new to us must be under four years old from the date of first registration.

From 1 January 2024:

Vehicle will not be licensed if they are 10 years old, or older.

Vehicles new to us must be Ultra Low Emission as defined by the Vehicle Certification Agency.

From 1 January 2031

Vehicles will not be licensed unless they are ULEV (Ultra low emission vehicles).
