Waverley Borough Council is inviting residents, community groups, and businesses to drop in and speak directly with planning officers about the borough’s new Local Plan. There are still opportunities to have your say before the consultation closes on Monday 8 December 2025.
The Issues and Options consultation is the first stage of consultation in preparing the new Local Plan, which will shape how Waverley grows and develops over the next 20 years - from new homes and jobs to transport, community facilities, and protection of the borough’s distinctive towns, villages, and countryside.
The council would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to share their views and ideas.
Councillor Liz Townsend, Portfolio Holder for Planning, said:
“Our drop-in sessions are a great opportunity to ask questions and explore the issues in person with the officers who are helping to shape the Local Plan. Whether your interests lie in housing, transport, the environment, or our town centres, we want local people to play an active role in shaping Waverley’s future.
“Whatever the outcome of any future Local Government Reorganisation, it remains essential that we continue developing a robust and well-evidenced Local Plan that will, over time, strengthen our ability to manage growth effectively. Your involvement now is vital to helping us plan for the sustainable housing, infrastructure and economic opportunities our communities will rely on in the years ahead.”
Drop-in sessions will be held at leisure centres across the borough on the following dates:
Saturday 15 November, 9am – 1pm:
Farnham Leisure Centre, Dogflud Way
Godalming Leisure Centre, Broadwater Park, Summers Road
Saturday 22 November, 9am – 1pm:
Cranleigh Leisure Centre, Village Way
Haslemere Leisure Centre, King’s Road
