Five fantastic new homes open at Nursery Close

Waverley Borough Council celebrated the official opening of five new homes at Nursery Close in Shamley Green.

The Mayor of Waverley, Councillor Denise Le Gal was joined by the council’s Portfolio Holder for Housing, Councillor Carole King, ward councillor, Councillor Mike Band, council officers and representatives from the council’s construction contractor, Feltham Construction Limited to cut the ribbon at a ceremony on the site.

The three 2-bed and two 3-bed houses, designed by Nye Saunders Architects, all have modern kitchens and bathrooms. Built to the highest standards, all the homes are energy efficient and so tenants will save on their heating, hot water and electricity bills.

Prior to the building work, which started in April 2017, the site housed a number of underused, Waverley owned garages. Now the site is home to five Waverley families, who all moved in a few weeks ago.

Following the opening ceremony, local residents were invited to enjoy a light buffet, provided by Feltham Construction Limited, at Garden Close Community Centre as a thank you for their patience during the works.
