Waverley Borough Council supports ASB Awareness Week 2026

Waverley Borough Council is proud to support Anti-social Behaviour (ASB) Awareness Week 2026, taking place from 29 June to 5 July, as part of the national campaign  #MakingCommunitiesSafer.

This annual campaign shines a spotlight on anti-social behaviour, helping residents understand what it is, who deals with it, and how to report it. It also highlights the support available to those affected.

During the week, Waverley Borough Council officers will be working with Surrey Police and partners across the borough to engage with residents, provide reassurance, and raise awareness of how we are tackling ASB locally.

What is Anti-social behaviour?

Anti-social behaviour is defined as actions that negatively impact people’s ability to enjoy their home or neighbourhood. This can include:

  • Rowdy or noisy behaviour
  • Graffiti and vandalism
  • Fly-tipping
  • Harassment or intimidation
  • Drug use or dealing
  • Damage to property or the environment
  • Using catapults to cause injury or damage to animals

Working together to tackle ASB

Waverley Borough Council works closely with Surrey Police, Surrey County Council, and other partners through the Safer Waverley Partnership to prevent and respond to ASB. This includes sharing information, identifying hotspots, and taking coordinated action.

A range of enforcement tools can be used where needed, including Criminal Behaviour Orders, Community Protection Notices and Closure Orders, alongside early intervention and support for victims.

How to report anti-social behaviour

If you are experiencing ASB, it’s important to report it so we can take action.

Report ASB to the council by visiting Report Anti-social Behaviour | Waverley Borough Council

If the behaviour is criminal, contact Surrey Police on 101, or 999 in an emergency

You can also request an Anti-social Behaviour Case Review if you’ve reported incidents multiple times and the issue is ongoing: Anti-social Behaviour Case Review | Waverley Borough Council

Cllr Kika Mirylees, Portfolio Holder for Community Services, Leisure and EDI, said:

“Anti-social behaviour can have a serious and lasting impact on people and communities. Through ASB Awareness Week, we are highlighting the importance of reporting concerns and making sure residents know that support is available.

We are committed to working with our partners to prevent and tackle ASB across Waverley, helping to ensure that everyone feels safe in their home and neighbourhood.”
