Christmas parking offer returns to Waverley to support festive shopping

Waverley Borough Council is, once again, introducing a special Christmas parking offer across the borough to support local businesses and encourage residents and visitors to shop local during the festive season.

From 1 December to 24 December 2026, shoppers can stay as long as they like in any Waverley Borough Council car park for just £2 after 2pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

If you just want to stay for one hour, they just pay the one-hour charge.  (For example, £1.40 to stay one hour in Farnham Central Car Park).

The initiative has been designed to make it easier and more affordable to visit town centres and stay longer, support local retailers, boosting footfall during a key trading period for businesses and to encourage residents and visitors to make the most of our town centres’ wide range of independent shops, national retailers, cafés, restaurants and Christmas events.

Waverley's town centres continue to play a vital role in the borough's economy and communities, offering a mix of independent businesses, national retailers, cafés, restaurants and seasonal events. The Christmas parking offer forms part of the council's ongoing commitment to supporting local businesses, increasing footfall and helping residents and visitors make the most of what our towns have to offer during the festive season.

Waverley Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Enforcement and Regulatory Services, Councillor Tony Fairclough, said:

"Christmas is an incredibly important time for our businesses in Waverley, and we want to do all we can to encourage people to visit our town centres and support local traders.

"Across the borough, our towns have so much to offer, from unique independent shops and excellent hospitality venues to festive markets, events and attractions. This parking offer makes it even easier for people to enjoy everything our town centres have to offer while supporting the local economy.

"We hope residents and visitors alike will take advantage of the discounted parking and choose Waverley's town centres as their destination for Christmas shopping, dining and celebrating this festive season."
