Independent retailers across Waverley are being encouraged to enter a new competition offering expert support to help grow their businesses, attract more customers and boost sales.
The Retail 101 competition is open to all independent retail businesses in the borough. One winning business will receive an exclusive morning of one-to-one mentoring with Fay Sharpe OBE in October.
With decades of experience helping businesses improve customer experience and increase sales, Fay will provide tailored advice designed to help the winning retailer identify opportunities for growth and strengthen their business performance.
As part of the prize, the winner will also receive a professionally produced promotional video to support future marketing activity and help showcase their business to new and existing customers.
Businesses can enter by completing a short application form. The closing date for entries is 21 September.
Councillor Liz Townsend BEM, Waverley Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Planning and Economic Development, said:
"Independent retailers are at the heart of our town centres and villages, helping to create vibrant communities and economic growth. We are delighted to offer this unique opportunity for a local business to benefit from Fay’s expertise. The winning retailer will gain valuable insights, practical advice and promotional tools that can help them attract new customers, increase sales and build on their success."
Fay Sharpe OBE said:
“Successful retailing is about understanding your customers and creating experiences that encourage them to return. I’m looking forward to working with the winning business and sharing ideas that can make a real difference.”
