Three spacious new affordable homes have been added to Waverley Borough Council’s housing supply at Oakland Grove in Chiddingfold.
The council secured the homes from Elivia Homes through a Section 106 planning agreement, which requires developers to contribute towards meeting local affordable housing needs.
The development comprises two three-bedroom semi-detached homes for affordable rent and a two-bedroom semi-detached home for shared ownership.
Each home includes an air source heat pump, an electric vehicle charging point, fitted kitchen appliances and private off-road parking. The properties also have particularly generous rear gardens overlooking open countryside.
Councillor David Munro, Mayor of Waverley, said:
“I was delighted to visit Oakland Grove and see these impressive new homes.
“They offer spacious, comfortable accommodation in a beautiful setting and will provide a wonderful place for their new residents to call home. I am particularly pleased that the development includes both affordable rented and shared ownership options.”
Councillor Janet Crowe, Waverley Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Housing Delivery, said:
“These three homes are an excellent addition to our affordable housing supply in Chiddingfold.
“Working with developers through planning agreements is one of the important ways we can secure more affordable homes for local people. These properties combine generous living space with modern, energy-efficient technology and have been completed to an excellent standard.
“With demand for affordable housing remaining high, we are pleased that the process of allocating and selling these homes is already progressing.”
