The newly elected Mayor said:

“It is a fantastic privilege to be elected as the Mayor of Waverley for a second time.

“We live in a wonderful borough with a vibrant and thriving local community. I’m looking forward to meeting some of the many voluntary organisations that do so much good work for local people.

“During my time as Mayor, I have chosen to support two charities that are close to my heart. Farnham Assist, a Christian organisation that does great work supporting older people who have become isolated, and Post-19, a life skills programme that helps young people to reach their full potential

“I am grateful to be entrusted with this responsibility and, with Gillian my Mayoress beside me, I will do my best to represent you all.”

Councillor Penny Rivers was Mayor from May 2023 and supported The Meath Epilepsy Charity and Skillway, a charity that benefits disadvantaged young people. During her time as Mayor, she successfully raised £4,600, which will be split equally between the two charities.
