We may assess your rubbish and recycling when reviewing your request and ask for proof of who lives in your home.

Delivery times

Bin deliveries are currently taking four to six weeks. For new housing developments, bins must be ordered at least six months before the property is due to be occupied.

Medical or clinical waste

We do not provide standard wheelie bins for medical or clinical waste.

If you have medical waste (including sharps), you must use our separate clinical waste collection service, which is free for householders.

You will need a special sharps box for needles and similar items, which you can request, along with collections, using our clinical waste collection form or by calling us.

Assisted bin collections

If you find it difficult to put your bins out for collection and there is no one at home who can help you, you may be able to get extra help from our assisted collection service.

Who the service is for:

  • residents who have mobility issues, a disability, or a medical condition that makes it hard to move bins to the normal collection point
  • residents who live alone, or where no other person in the household is able to safely put the bins out

How it works:

  • if approved, our crews will collect and return your bin from an agreed location within your property boundary
  • you must tell us if your circumstances change, or if you move house, so we can review or cancel the assisted collection

Bulky waste collections (large items)

If you have large household items that will not fit into your normal rubbish bin, you can book a bulky waste collection.

We don't provide the service. The service is provided by Furniture Helpline.

They offer:

  • bulky collections for items such as furniture or other large household goods that you cannot put in your usual bins
  • there is a charge for bulky waste collections, and limits on the number and types of items Furniture Helpline can take per booking
  • items must be placed at the agreed collection point by 6am on the day of collection

Before you book:

  • check our bulky waste collections page for current charges, what can and cannot be collected, and how many items you can include in one booking

Developers and property managers

Housing developers and property management companies must order bins separately.

Please order up to six months before your properties will be occupied.
