Drivers can now pay and display using card payments in High Street Car Park, Haslemere thanks to Waverley Borough Council updating its parking machines.

Customers can pay for parking with credit or debit cards, using either the chip and pin facility or contactless touch pad, and get a receipt with their card transactions. Just like paying with cash, there is no service charge or surcharge for paying by card.

Drivers can still also pay using cash or the RingGo phone payment system.

The upgrade is part of the council’s car park investment programme. Earlier this year the council installed card payment machines in Stocklund Square and Village Way car parks in Cranleigh and more recently in Crown Court Car Park in Godalming. Over the coming months, card payment machines will also be activated in:

  • Upper Hart, Farnham
  • Lower Hart, Farnham
  • Central, Farnham
