The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile in Waverley raised a whopping £10,101.54 with more than 360 people running and walking themselves proud this spring.

Participants of all ages were sponsored to walk and run one, three or six miles across the challenging course at Frensham Great Pond and Common to raise money for Sport Relief.

Among the local heroes were the Waverley Wolf and former Wimbledon and Watford striker Marcus Gayle, cheering everyone on and keeping spirits high.

This year’s Sport Relief was a record breaking year with the campaign raising a total of £72.5million. The money raised will help disadvantaged people living incredibly tough lives.
