Blockbuster news for Farnham

The redevelopment of East Street in Farnham will feature a multi screen cinema.

Waverley Borough Council has a development agreement with Crest Nicholson. As part of its discussions with retail and restaurant outlets the company has secured an agreement for Odeon - the UK's largest cinema chain - to be part of the Farnham town centre project.

A deal is also under negotiation with Marks & Spencer.

The redevelopment of East Street, Farnham will include 9,814 square metres of retail space. The project will include 239 new homes, 167 of which will be sold privately, with 36 made available for affordable shared ownership and further 36 for affordable rental.

The project includes public open spaces including a new town square. A replacement community centre will be built along with a car park with more than 400 spaces.
