Free family fun as Waverley Xplorer returns

Published Friday, 1 February 2019

This half term, families can ‘Xplorer’ a park, complete a navigation challenge and have fun together in the great outdoors as Waverley welcomes back free Xplorer events.

Councillor Jenny Else, Portfolio Holder for Health, Wellbeing and Culture, Parks and Countryside, said: “My grandchildren and I really can’t recommend the Xplorer events highly enough; they are an excellent opportunity for families to get out into the fresh air and enjoy an activity that is both educational, fun and, as an added bonus, free. We do hope to see lots of Waverley families enjoying a great day out together at one of the events this half term.”

Xplorer is a family friendly navigation challenge that involves a healthy mix of physical activity and decision making, exploring the park, finding markers and completing challenges. The course lasts for approximately 30 minutes and is suitable for primary and pre-school children. Everyone will receive a certificate and sticker for taking part.

There are three opportunities to join the fun:

  • Monday 18 February, 10.30am-12.30pm, Farnham Park (next to the adventure playground)
  • Thursday 21 February, 10.30am-12.30pm, Broadwater Park (next to the playground)
  • Friday 22 February, 10.30am-12.30am, Snoxhall Fields (next to the playground)
