Waverley Local Plan found to be sound

Published Tuesday, 6 February 2018

Subject to the inclusion of a set of modifications, a Government appointed Planning Inspector has found Waverley’s Local Plan Part 1 to be sound.

The Inspector’s report, received on 1 February 2018, concludes that the plan provides an appropriate basis for planning in Waverley, subject to the addition of some modifications, including:

  • an increase in the overall housing requirement in the borough from 519 to 590 homes per year
  • changes to the Green Belt policy
  • a new design policy for Dunsfold Aerodrome.

Part 1 of the Local Plan has now reached its final stage and Full Council will be asked to accept the modifications and formally adopt the plan at its next meeting on 20 February.
