Listed buildings

Can I get financial help for my listed building?

Farnham Trust are able to make small discretionary grants towards the cost of structural repairs to any historic building. The aim is to assist owners to carry out repairs in a manner which is sympathetic to the character of the building.  Only work which is more than everyday maintenance is eligible. For example, roofing repairs qualify but redecoration and insulation do not.

The Surrey Historic Buildings Trust also run a grants programme.  Grants can be up to £1,500 (exceptionally £3,000) and are only offered for projects costing more than £5,000.  Grants are not offered for roofing or for places of worship.  For further information about the scheme, please email Andy Smith on or call 07737271676.

If you have a Grade I building, financial assistance may be available from Historic England. They may also help some Grade II* buildings.
