Blackheath conservation area

Designated conservation area: 08 February 1983

Blackheath is an example of a Victorian heathland settlement with architecturally interesting Harrison Townsend buildings.

Charles Harrison Townsend was an important exponent of the Arts and Crafts movement.  Only the church is listed, however many of the buildings provide architectural quality worthy of conservation area designation.
