Cranleigh Parish Council, as the qualifying body, has prepared a neighbourhood development plan for its parish.
Known as the Cranleigh Neighbourhood Plan, it covers the period from 2018 to 2032 and sets out a vision for the future of the parish, housing allocations and planning policies that will be used to determine planning applications locally.
We have appointed Ann Skippers to undertake an independent examination of the Cranleigh Neighbourhood Plan.
As part of the examination, Ann Skippers has issued a note on her interim findings on the Cranleigh Neighbourhood Plan.
In response to this, the parish council has decided to proceed with the ‘Option B’ suggested within the Note of Interim Findings from the Examiner, which includes the conduction of additional work to the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and updates to the Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA), in cooperation with Waverley Borough Council. The parish council has noted the modifications and recommendations within the Examiner’s Note of Interim Findings with regards to the policies, and are agreeable to changes being made during the examination, but do not consider that these will fundamentally alter the overall spirit and direction of the Plan.
Following this decision, the Examiner has confirmed that the Examination of the Cranleigh Neighbourhood Plan has been formally suspended. We will published an indicative timetable outlining the next steps in due course.
