Godalming Town Council as the qualifying body has prepared a neighbourhood development plan for its parish, entitled the Godalming and Farncombe Neighbourhood Plan, with the help of the local community. The plan covers the period from 2017 to 2032 and sets out a vision for the future of the parish and planning policies that will be used to determine planning applications locally.
A referendum on the Godalming and Farncombe Neighbourhood Plan was held on 9 July 2019. More than 50% of those voting in the referendum voted 'yes' and therefore the Godalming and Farncombe Neighbourhood Plan has become part of the statutory development plan for Godalming and Farncombe. The next stage is for Waverley to 'make' the neighbourhood plan.
