We have undertaken a periodic review of Polling Districts and Polling Places, under section 18A of the Representation of the People Act 1983 (as amended).
The review considers the suitability of existing polling stations and possible alternative polling stations to be used for all types of elections, referendums and polls.
The consultation period, which ran from 12 August - 30 September 2019, inviting comments and views has now closed. The full report on the Review will be published following the full council meeting on 17 December 2019.

We are required to divide the borough into polling districts. In general, they are the same as parishes. However, we divide the districts into smaller groups in towns to ensure that:
- there aren't too many electors in any district
- polling stations are convenient for voters.
Each polling district should have an appointed polling station within it. However, if the district has no suitable venue for voting, then the polling station may be outside that district.
We are reviewing the suitability of the polling stations we use and will consider alternative options.
