Taxi Licensing - passenger information

Overview of taxi Licensing - passenger information

All taxis, private hire vehicles, and their drivers must be licensed by Waverley Borough Council. As a passenger you:

  • have the right to know the maximum amount you will be charged for a journey.  You can download the current fares
  • are entitled to see the driver's details (photo, badge and licence number) and should make a note of them, particularly as you may have lost property in the vehicle or have cause for complaint following a journey
  • should be aware that private hire vehicles are different from taxis.
