New measures came into place across England on 5 November to help protect people, businesses and the NHS and prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Bulky waste collections

Furniture Helpline run our bulky waste collection service.

You can use the service for large household items, such as sofas, beds, washing machines, fridges and more. 

They collect most items but cannot collect:

  • asbestos
  • builder's rubble 
  • wood
  • very heavy items like heating oil and water tanks or pianos
  • vehicles, trailers and tyres
  • waste in black bags
  • items over 8ft in length, including ladders.

Those on low income, unemployment and housing benefit may qualify for the discounted price.

Trade waste

We do not collect trade waste. Visit the Surrey County Council website to find out how your business can recycle or contact a private company that offers this service.

Other ways to dispose of bulky items

You could also try taking them to your local Community Recycling Centre.
