The Scrutiny Group provides a formal way for residents to co-regulate the Housing Service.
For the Housing Service to be efficient, effective and responsive to customers' priorities, residents must be given the opportunity to independently challenge the council and hold the council to account in fulfilling its strategic functions, service delivery roles and operational targets.
The involvement of tenants and leaseholders in residents' scrutiny of these crucial areas can significantly help improve:
