From 18 to 22 February 2020 at Godalming Borough Hall, Godalming Operatic Society is thrilled to present their production of 'Ruddigore’ by Gilbert & Sullivan. Directed by Ian Henderson and Musical Director, David Wright, Godalming Operatic’s Chorus and Principal cast will bring to life the engaging story of the cursed Bad Baronets of the village of Rederrin in Cornwall; their individual quests for redemption, forgiveness and ultimately love, and of course the various machinations of the pushy professional Bridemaids, the dastardly Bucks and Blades, the ambitious local maid looking to get hitched and the punitive, vengeful ancestral Ghosts along the way. With lots of drama and laughter the story unfolds with many twists and turns, but will this Gilbertian melodrama have the inevitable happy ending? Accompanied as ever by our piece de resistance, a superb 23 piece professional orchestra, recreating that traditional, full D'Oyle Carte sound with entirely unamplified voices, something GOS prides itself on, ensuring our audiences get to experience Gilbert & Sullivan operas as they are meant to be seen and heard. You may not be as familiar with this two act G&S opera - but it is certainly one not to be missed with wonderful music, dramatic setting and an intricately amusing storyline and we'd love to see you and the whole family there! Concessions are available for Seniors and all Child tickets (up to age 18) are only £10 for every performance. ‚ÄčAlso playing from 27-29th February 2020 at Leatherhead Theatre.
