Become an apprentice

Are you looking to gain valuable experience that will make your CV stand out above the rest?

If you’re looking to start your career in a supportive environment and develop essential skills to improve your employability then an apprenticeship at Waverley Borough Council is for you:

  • Learn on the job
  • Get a nationally recognised qualification
  • Earn while you learn
  • Grow in confidence

More about the training, support and development

Over the two years, you will spend time studying a range of topics in order to complete an NVQ in either business administration, customer service or IT. You won't be alone; you'll be given a Waverley Training Services Learning Advisor, who will create a learning plan tailored to you.

There is a whole network of people waiting to help you. Your manager and team will help with day-to-day tasks, organising your workload and make sure you are getting the most out of your experience. You will also be partnered up with a mentor outside of your team to coach you towards achieving specific personal or professional goals.

What happens once the apprenticeship is finished?

We ensure that our apprentices gain the skills, knowledge and experience that put them in an excellent position to build a career within or outside of local government.
