Free ‘Virtual’ fun for kids during Easter Holidays

Throughout the Easter Holidays, Waverley Borough Council is offering free activities via a new Virtual Activity Programme mixing fun and learning for the whole family.

Activities include: football skills, beginner Judo, kids fit classes, beginner Karate, making puppets, dance workshops, ballet, scavenger hunts, family trails plus lots more. A full list of what’s on offer and how you can get involved can be found at www.waverley.gov.uk/virtualeaster.

Fiona Chan, Coach from Kinsa Judo, who is delivering daily sessions said: “It’s been great to have the opportunity to share my passion for judo on this scheme and to help get kids moving!”

Xplorer, a free family friendly navigation challenge also returns during the holidays, giving children a sense of adventure as they explore one of Waverley’s three parks – Broadwater Park (Godalming), Farnham Park and Snoxhall Fields (Cranleigh). Using a simple map, the aim is to find a number of markers, identify what is pictured plus enjoy learning a fun fact. To find out more go to www.waverley.gov.uk/xplorer.

Kelvin Mills, Head of Commercial Services at Waverley Borough Council said: “We are delighted to co-ordinate these fun and enriching holiday activities and are so proud of our awesome and important local providers who have stepped up to the challenge of providing such a wide and varied offer of activities for children to enjoy in the Easter holidays.”

Please note all on-line sessions are happening via Zoom, so you will need a phone/tablet/laptop, an internet connection and some space to move around in plus all live session sign-ups are cut off by 5pm the day before each session. Any registration after this time will not be accepted. You will also need to register online to attend Xplorer events to receive a downloadable map plus answer sheet.
