Specsavers Surrey Youth Games – get active with FREE activity sessions in Waverley

Do you want to encourage your children to get more active? Or do you have kids that want to get involved in an activity they haven’t tried before?

If so, why not register them for the Specsavers Surrey Youth Games 2022 which returns this Summer. The largest multi-activity youth event of its kind in the Southeast of England, it offers FREE local training for those taking part.

There are free beginners’ sessions in Waverley throughout April and May, specifically designed for 6–16-year-olds who do not currently attend clubs and would like to be more active.

The weekly activity sessions include girls’ football, tennis, basketball, Go Tri Gym and inclusive dance.

To find out more about what is on offer and how to sign up for Team Waverley activity sessions, you can contact leisure@waverley.gov.uk, call 01483 523081 or visit Waverley Borough Council - The Specsavers Surrey Youth Games

Cllr Kika Mirylees, Waverley Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Health, Wellbeing, Parks and Leisure, said:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for young people wanting to take part in an activity they haven’t tried before or perhaps one they’ve always wanted to do but don’t have access to normally. I’d encourage parents to take a look and sign their children up so they can give it a go.”

The training sessions will lead to a final, celebratory event at the Surrey Sports Park in Guildford on Saturday 18 June.
