The P&G Surrey Youth Games 2013
Congratulations to all the Waverley teams who took part in the P&G Surrey Youth Games 2013 on 15 and 16 June 2013. One of the main aims of the Games is to encourage young people to develop their sporting skills and promote physical activity as well as fair play in sport.
Six medals for Waverley
It was a fantastic weekend for Waverley, receiving six medals in total:
- Gold for our Girls Basketball Team
- Silver for our Boys Basketball Team and Judo Junior Boys Team
- Bronze for our Judo Junior Girls Team, Judo Senior Girls Team and Mixed Swimming Team.
How many took part?
Approximately 250 children took part in our training sessions, with 132 of those being selected to compete on behalf of Waverley. Most of the children selected to compete were new participants to their sports and had never played competitively.
